Book Review: The 7 Most Effective Habits of Self-Hypnosis
Are you trying to create a positive mindset for better health? Do you want to ditch bad habits? Hoping to put yourself on the road to financial freedom?
If the answer is yes, you aren’t alone. Most of us want to live our best life possible. Moreover, we want to do so in ways that feel authentic.
That’s why I’d like to share my impressions of a book I recently read entitled: The Seven Most Effective Methods of Self-Hypnosis: How to Create Rapid Change in your Health, Wealth, and Habits by Dr. Richard Nongard (see Amazon).
Nongard is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Professional Hypnotist. In addition to his work as a clinician, he also teaches people the art of hypnosis.
So, is this book worth the money? Can it teach you meaningful self-hypnosis techniques on the path to goal attainment? All I can tell you is that after spending time reading this publication, I was very pleased.
Below is a quick rundown of my likes and dislikes. Just so you know, there weren’t many dislikes. Are you ready? Check it out.
What I liked:
- Easy to understand learning techniques
- Free of psycho-babble and confusing language
- Addresses a variety of life areas
- Self-calming exercises for use in everyday life
- Contributions from different hypnotists
What I didn’t like:
As I hinted to above, there really isn’t much that I can say “negative” about this book. If my back were against the wall and I had to pick one thing, I guess I wish it were longer.
I say this because I found myself engrossed in the different lessons and techniques and never wanted the book to end.
Other thoughts
One of my favorite sections of the book is entitled: “The Four Basic Strategies.” Here, Nongard walks you through each area, addressing autosuggestions, autogenic training, progressive muscle relaxation, and mindfulness. Each concept acts as a pillar for other learnings that occur later in the book.
An example of what I’m talking about is the “Light Switch Technique.” Using concepts of mindfulness and progressive muscle relaxation, you are taught how to create a deep state of inner peace.
Imagine the ability to instantly turn on “calm” so that you can better focus on your goals? Well, I’m here to tell you this is very possible because I experienced it firsthand after trying it for myself.
Bringing it all together
If you are looking for a resource that offers concrete tools for goal attainment, The Seven Most Effective Methods of Self-Hypnosis might be a smart choice.
Speaking only for myself, I found the entire read to be worthwhile. The price point is about right with a retail cost of $8.99 for the paperback and $4.49 on Kindle.
So, there you have it folks – my impressions of this book. Have you engaged in self-hypnosis? If so, did it help you? Share your thoughts below.
